Carriage House Nursery School

Play | Learn | Grow

Carriage House Nursery School (CHNS) is a private, non-profit school that has been serving the South Shore community since 1978. With toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten programs designed around child-initiated play, learning and growth, curiosity, and a climate of warmth and respect.

  • "We have been so grateful to integrate our family into the Carriage House School community. The care displayed by our son's teachers and school staff is so appreciated, and the community of families is second to none. We have seen so much growth in our son over the last two years - in his skill sets, new interests, social interactions and friends made - and are so glad he got started as a toddler. I feel confident he'll be fully prepared and excited for kindergarten as a result of the 3 years spent as a Carriage House kid! Thank you, CHNS!!"

  • "There is no other preschool in the entire South Shore that we would rather send our children to. Carriage House Nursery School is so much more than just a preschool; it's a community of parents, teachers, and a director who genuinely cares about your child, your family as a whole, and the wider community of Cohasset. The curriculum is exceptional where children aren't just taught their letters or how to count - they are taught the foundational skills spanning emotional, social, and academic intelligence that completely prepares them to enter the school system as kind, creative, independent, and fiercely curious students. CHNS is a place where your children can thrive and this is the only preschool all three of our children will attend!"

  • "We love Carriage house! We could not be happier with the quality care and education our children have received. The teachers and staff are amazing. It is a warm, welcoming environment that has help nurtured their independence and growth. There is a great sense of routine, while exploring new topics each week. The outdoor classroom is such a fun place for the kids to learn and use their imaginations!"
